Cross-Roads

We are now at cross-roads considering to move in the same house together. I am really wondering whether we will manage or not. None of us have been born into polygyny so we have no examples of how to deal with everything that comes our way. Not being able to retire into our own homes might prove to be a real challenge. Also I wonder how it will be to see our husband at home. So far we have never acted affectionate towards him in front of each other..but that just must change once we live together.
It's gonna be a great task. I just hope God is supporting us in this one.

So did you all ever follow through with this idea or did it just stay right at that... an idea.

Hi and welcome! To respond to your question:
We are not rushing into this, so if we go through with it, it won't be within the next month or anything like that, but we are seriously considering it.
It should be something positive and constructive. We don't want to ruin things by making hastily decisions.

I don't recommend it...not at all. As you've read from my blog I'm in my second "stint" of living with my co-wife (my goodness...it's been a long time since I actually referred to her that way). You will miss your "own" time.

I do not suggest it but that is just me. I could not deal with it...the whole knowing what he is doing behind that closed door...Ok I making myself sad...

@UmmAbdur-Rahmaan - LOL! It's not funny actually but it just made me laugh when I read it, because we have talked about that and how that would be. I imagined myself avoiding THE door, and not going to the bathroom if the it was close to THE door.. LOL,
So we figured the house needed to be spacious enough for us to feel comfortable. But money needs to be in place and the location should be right. So we don't know yet whether its gonna be feasible.

@ourrewardsawaitus - yeah, that has crossed my mind as well. On the hand you get to see him more, but you are alone with him less.

I totally don't reccomend it. The man is supposed to by Islmaic law provide for each wife their own house. I dont recall hearing any of the prophet's wives sharing ahouse for a good reason jealousy and anger will eat at you more. You can't ignore the person that is right there next to youALL DAY EVERY DAY, with your husband every day. I'm not anti-P I'm just practical and telling you that He is the man and if he wants the ladies he needs to shell out the dough for own houses. Simple as that. If he doesn't have the dough why the Heck does he have 4? I would totally NOT agree with this. What if one day you want to slack off in cooking and so does she and then hubby comes home and finds no food and two lazy wives.... very difficult situations to deal with dear and a whole lot of heart ache when it would prolly not be there as much in diff houses.
